RoHS Directive

TAKIGEN has established Environmental Standards for TAKIGEN products, adding to the ‘Certain Hazardous Chemical Substances’*1 banned under the RoHS Directive*2 that has been in force in the EU since July 2006, other substances to be banned or reduced. We are pressing on with compliance to the RoHS, and are engaged in the promotion of ‘Clean Procurement’*3 with the aim of offering products that are less of a burden to the environment.

TAKIGEN products carry our Green Mark. This mark indicates that the product carrying it contains less than the permissible amount of specified hazardous chemical substances, based on the RoHS Directive. Many products that are not in compliance with RoHS are in the process of being switched to compliance, or may be made compliant to order. Please enquire.
  1. Specified Hazardous Chemical Substances: Cadmium, Hexavalent chromium, Lead, Mercury, Polybrominated biphenals (PBB), Polubrominated diphenal ether (PBDE).
  2. RoHS Directive: abbreviation for Restriction of the use of certain Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Elec tronic Equipment. Restrictions on hazardous substances implemented by the European Union. Effective from 1st July 2006. With a few exceptions, the Directive bans the use of the specified hazardous substances in electrical and electronic products handled within the EU.
  3. Green Procurement: the procurement of products, parts and services that place little burden on the environment.
